PNE Girls U-11s 4-2 Wigan Athletic U-11s

North End got off to a great start in this game with a goal from Katie Woodhead in the 3rd minute. Ellie Atherton then had a to make a tremendous save , diving to win the ball at the feet of a Wigan attacker, and Michaela Weyer made a last ditch sliding block tackle to deny another good Wigan opportunity, before Katie increased the lead with her second goal – a lovely run through the Wigan defence and a cool finish.

Wigan were physically strong, but North End’s passing and movement was excellent, and when Michaela made it 3-0 before the break, victory never really looked in doubt.

A tight second half saw two goals from Wigan either side of a goal from Jodie Pickering for North End.
