Under 11’s – Skelmersdale tournament, 13th June 2015

The opening game against Boro Girls was a closely contested match which ended in a 1-1 draw (PNE goalscorer – Ellie).  Next up was Golborne, again this was another close game with PNE winning 2-0 (goals from Anna and Sarah).  The next games of the group stage resulted in more comfortable wins for the PNE girls, winning 4-0 against Crossfields (goals from Charlotte, Fran, Megan and a Crossfields own goal); 5-1 against Burnley (hat-trick for Sarah, one apiece for Anna and Ellie); and then 4-0 against Cumbernauld (penalty from Anna, other goals from Charlotte, Lauryn and Sarah).

After the group stage, Boro and PNE had the same number of points at the top of Group A, however Boro had a greater goal difference.   PNE therefore took the runners-up spot in this group and this meant facing Man City girls (as winners of Group B) in the semi-final stage.

PNE took an early lead with a goal from Megan and hopes soared!  However, the Man City girls clawed their way back into the game and the final score was 3-1 to Man City.

Well done to all the girls for playing so well against some tough opposition!
