PNEWJFC sponsored the VEDA tournament for year 5’s and 6’s this afternoon at Tulketh Sports College. 19 school teams throughout the local area competed, with St.Andrew’s (Blue) the eventual winners.

The club has supported this tournament for a number of years, providing coaches for refereeing duties as well as medals for the participants. Tournament organiser Paul Whelan was very pleased with the success of the tournament as passes his thanks on to the club for their involvement.

All the girls enjoyed themselves  and will hopefully join us for the Saturday Morning Club, 10am-11am every Saturday at the UCLan Sports Arena (£3 charge per girl). Which is open for all girls aged 7-14. The tournament highlighted the Saturday Morning Club as Amy, who regularly joins us, scored a goal for St.Andrew’s as they won the final 2-1.

Reporters from the Lancashire Evening Post covered the event and it is expected to reach Friday’s edition of the paper.
