Ex-Juniors scoring big with Senior Team!

Preston North End Women made it seven wins from eight games with a 6-2 victory against Huddersfield Town Ladies on 14th December.

Last year Sarah Chadwick and Holly Rawcliffe were playing for PNEWJC Under 16’s. Last week they were scoring goals for PNE Womens First Team! Sarah scored her first hat trick for the first team while Holly Rawcliffe added the goal of the match!

Eleven minutes in PNE took the lead with Chadwick scoring the first of her three goals. Laura Walker’s 35 yard free kick was tipped onto the bar and Chadwick followed up to make it 1-0.

Chadwick’s second came shortly after following a good piece of skill on the edge of the area. She took the ball past one player before prodding a shot into the back of the net off the inside of the post.

PNE Manager Luke Podmore sent his players out early for the second half and a long ball from PNE’s half split the Huddersfield defence and Chadwick latched onto the end of it to apply the finish to seal her hat trick.

The scoring was completed in the 86th minute when Rawcliffe added the goal of the game. The ball came to her around 25 yards out and she hit a first time looping effort that dipped just under the bar to make it 6-2 to wrap up the three points in style.

The win sees PNE move up to 8th in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division with games in hand on the teams above them. Next up is a trip to Newcastle United on the 21st December.
