Each year Preston North End Women’s Junior Football Club send their Under 16s to take part in the Dallas International Girl’s Cup.  This is one of the World’s largest football tournaments.

The 2014-5 PNEWJFC U16 squad has been together for 7 years and has some of the best female footballers in the North of England.  The team has a successful history in the West Lancashire League, taking the League Title and League Cup, and they were crowned winners of the Lancashire County Cup in 2012/13 season, coming League runners up in 2014/15. 

Fundraising Committee Chairman Andrew Southworth says  “This will afford every girl in the squad the chance to proudly represent Preston North End and the city of Preston at this prestigious tournament alongside other elite teams from Australia, USA, Canada and Europe.

We will be holding numerous fundraising events over the coming months to pay for this trip and these include bucket collections, bag packing at local supermarkets, and croupier, bingo, quiz and race nights . We are appealing to the public and loyal PNE fans to support these events. So far we have had valuable support from Sainsburys at Bamber Bridge, Dobbies Garden Centre at Clifton near Preston, Deepdale Labour Club and B&Q at Bamber Bridge who have allowed us to do bucket collections and bag packs with them. It is great to see these businesses supporting their local community and we are very grateful to them.
